Around 80 years ago, a family left Italy and adopted Brazil as their new home, continuously devoting themselves to grape growing and wine making. This is the history of Cia. Piagentini, one of the most traditional wineries in the country.
With constant investment in production, Cia. Piagenti launched the new Decima line of fine wines, utilizing an innovative process called Multi-Terroir. Instead of following the method of the majority of wineries in Rio Grande do sul, in which they keep vineyards close to the winery, Cia. Piagenti carefully chooses several vine growers to supply their products. In this way, the company is not bound to just a single land area, climate, and type of soil. Individually selected grapes are grown in different terroirs, selected with accuracy from areas that are suitable for growing vitis vinifera grapes in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, including Caxias do Sul, Vale dos Vinhedos, Faria Lemos and Serra Gaucha, among others. Our grapes are grown to the highest standard to obtain the maximum sugar concentration and the healthiest fruit. Aged in oak barrels, our wine is fermented with high quality French or Portuguese yeasts.
Cia. Piagenini’s line of fine wines also includes Boutique wines which, along with Decima wines, have received several medals in competitions around the world. For example, during a blind tasting session at the International Competition of Wine held in Rio Grande do Sul, it was awarded several gold and silver medals.
